Review: I stayed at Montigo Resort Nongsa from 12–14 October 2025. The property itself has potential — large villas, private pools, a scenic location and a solid spa — but service and operations were far below 5-star expectations. Check-in chaos: I arrived around 1 p.m., knowing check-in was officially at 3 p.m. The WhatsApp concierge could not confirm when my room would be ready and repeated the standard “from 3 p.m.” line. Even at 3 p.m., rooms weren’t ready; only at 3:15 I was told mine was done. Passing through the property meant walking around construction debris and unclean areas. It then took another hour for my luggage to arrive because reception and the delivery staff didn’t coordinate. Facilities: The spa experience itself was excellent — professional therapists and clean facilities — but a crane and excavator were operating right next to the wellness area during opening hours. Hardly relaxing. One of the two main restaurants (the seafood one) was closed without prior notice, which is quite a let-down at a seaside resort. Service & dining issues: At breakfast, my table was dirty. When the staff dropped cutlery while cleaning, they simply put it back on the table until I pointed it out — not exactly 5-star behavior. I also scheduled a spa appointment with the buggy service 40 minutes in advance as advised; it was confirmed on WhatsApp but never showed up, so I walked 15 minutes to the spa myself. Villa issues: Each villa has a private pool, but the water-pump system is placed right beside the outdoor seating area, producing a constant droning sound throughout the day. When I asked, staff replied, “that’s how it is, the pump is needed for the pool.” Conclusion: The potential is there — great concept, solid spa, nice sea view — but the service culture, coordination, and attention to detail are missing. This stay felt more like a 3-star experience wrapped in a 5-star price tag.

We had an amazing stay at Montigo Resort Nongsa! The villa was spotless, spacious, and beautifully maintained. The staff were all incredibly friendly and attentive, they went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. The location is perfect for a relaxing escape from the city, with stunning sea views and peaceful surroundings. We especially loved the private pool and the resort’s amenities — everything was top-notch. Highly recommended for a getaway with friends or family. Would definitely come back again!

It was an amazing stay to celebrate my wedding anniversary. Beautiful resort, beautiful view, great facilities and good value for money. Cleanliness, especially for the room/ villa could be further improved. Some spots are sandy, even in our private pool. Location is a bit secluded and a bit far from city center. It’s ok if you plan to just stay at the hotel and not going around

Amazing location and perfect view to the sea. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The room is spacious and the private pool is perfect for chilling. The only issue we had was the waterpipe that produced a vibration that sounded like someone yawning throughout the night. Other than this is the facilities needed an upgrade. The high pole bed as shown in the photo was also not there. Otherwise, this is a perfect getaway.

Montigo Nongsa Resort is a must go for a relaxing retreat in Batam to rest and recharge from the daily rush of City life. Just by simply being there, immersed in the beauty of white washed villas by the sea, you will feel like you're in Greece. Soaking in the scenic view all around you everywhere you go and vibes of a slower pace of life, all the stress slips away. In the resort, commuting is done using a buggy, or you can have a delightful walk discovering paths and scenic places not covered by the buggy. The villa is my beautiful cozy home for the retreat with its own Infinity pool giving me all time access to the magnificent sea view, sunset and cloudy skies overhead. I can lounge on the poolside bench for a sunbath watching the ferries and sea activities or admire the broad expanse of the dark cloudy skies overhead with planes flying above at night truly quietens one's spirit down in an amazing life by the sea. Adding sparks and highlights to the already perfect life here in Montigo Resort is the abundance of daily breakfast at Tadd's Restaurant. The staff here (including Sara and another gentleman staff whom I didn't ask for the name) are amazingly friendly and helpful, ensuring a pleasant breakfast experience for you. If you have booked recreation activities in advance, you would be pleasantly delighted that staff from the Recreation Club would be there at Tadd's before you come for breakfast to meet you and assure they will bring you to the Recreation activity after breakfast! Wow! What a seamless experience to make you feel so welcome and well taken care of! Thanks to Chyntia, Coco, Yoga, Wahid and Bruhan from the Recreation Club. Chyntia has thoughtfully planned the sequence of the activities when I booked several activities over a few days without fixed dates and time to allow easier booking depending on tidal conditions and other guests' bookings. You can try your hands at the Airsoft Gun. Coco from Recreation Club will guide you on the shooting techniques. As a first timer with Airsoft guns, I'm certainly pleased to have hit 2 targets using 30 pellets. Next is the kayaking. Yoga from Recreation Club will brief you on using the paddle and take photos and videos for you from the shore. Just paddle out to the peaceful sea and take in the entire landscape of Montigo Resort from the kayak. I'm also amazed at the opportunity to see a tiny flat crab clutching onto a floating cardboard raising one leg at me at sea! Another exciting adventure is the ATV! Wahid from the Recreation Club will help you get familiar to the ATV in no time and guide you on a tour to the dirt track and the nearby farm in the ATV if you choose the one hour session! Along the way, he will help take photos and videos to capture your memorable ATV journey. Lastly, you can opt for a 2 hour bike tour to 2 kampungs! Guided by Bruhan from Recreation Club, you will see the captivating rustic local life scenes, the nature and beach along the way. You will also see the mangrove village where paintball activity takes place. Bruhan will also take photos and videos for you when we pause for breaks. Thankfully, Bruhan brought along a bottle of mineral water for me for regular hydration during the tour! It totally skipped my mind to consider bringing water along! To ease the muscle soreness, end the day with a blissful soak in the Infinity pool or warm bathtub with an essential oil bath bomb. Breathe in the aromatic scent and relax. So much wonderful memories and delightful experiences at Montigo Nongsa Resort leaves me looking forward to more!

The seaview villa that we booked was a little rundown in the living room furniture and the outdoor settee set was not put out on the 3rd outdoor level for us. The toiletries in the master bedroom were not replenished on the day of arrival but once we informed the Front Desk, action was taken immediately. Response and replies from the Front Desk were good and the buggy service personnel were helpful too. Kudos go to the service personnel at Reception, Tadd's and Tiigo restaurants. The location is not near to Nagoya Hill Mall and Mega Mall but the Hotel provides shuttle service to Mega Mall twice a day and the Grab fees to and fro Nagoya Hill Mall were not too expensive.

Easily the best and most scenic spot in any Batam hotel resorts. The service is impeccable and it is not too far off from Batam ferry terminal too. The bathroom and own swimming pool at the villa are a plus point as well. Will definitely return again, thumbs up to the team.

Thanks to the frontline staff: Cinthya. Ramadhan & Ryan (buggy team), and Sahrul (front desk via WA) your service was truly the saving grace of this stay. The maintenance team also responded promptly to some minor issues. We appreciated the upgrade to a 2-bedroom hilltop villa with a serene view. Breakfast was a highlight: roti jala was tasty, fish noodle soup flavorful, salad and cold cuts were a nice touch, and the jamu shots were a great bonus. For the premium price Montigo charges, the villa’s facilities don’t match. Many parts are worn out, and basic items like a microwave or simple utensils are missing, issues that have been raised by other guests before, yet management doesn’t seem to act. One incident on 30 August at breakfast also needs attention: at the fish noodle counter, there was no queue. After the lady in front of me got her two bowls, I asked the younger male staff with glasses for one bowl ('mie nya satu') and pointed at the bowl and showing 1, as there was 2 bowls of noodles were already prepared and just needed soup poured in. Instead, he looked at me, took a plate of food, and literally walked away mid-service, while I was waiting and the older regular staff was busy preparing mie goreng. Thinking he’d return or serve another customer, but he disappeared into the kitchen. I stood there, waiting to be served. I sympathize the older regular guy preparing the mie goreng as he had to multi task and serve me, instead of the younger guy helping his colleague and also serving me. It was a fast one but yet the younger guy rather leave customer waiting and he disappeared straight to the kitchen with a plate. (I wonder if it’s for him or for kitchen staff?) This may seem small, but it leaves a bad impression on guests. I strongly urge management to review this specific incident and coach that staff, so it does not happen again, unfortunately i didn't see his name, he was wearing black thick rimmed glasses. In short, Montigo resort has genuinely great frontline/service staff who try their best, but upper management needs to step up: refresh the villas, provide basic amenities, and ensure service quality and building maintenance match the “luxury” price tag. As it stands, overall feels overpriced for what is delivered.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I had a fantastic stay at Montigo Resort Nongsa! The accommodations were beautiful, serene, and well-maintained—but what truly made the experience unforgettable was the warm service from the staff, especially Dwi. From the moment we arrived, Dwi went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed and cared for. Her attentiveness, professionalism, and genuine kindness really stood out. She anticipated our needs before we even asked, and her thoughtful touches added so much warmth to our stay. Montigo should be proud to have someone like Dwi on their team. Her service embodies the spirit of true hospitality. I’ll definitely be returning!
